| Treatments normally
consist of focused soft tissue work (MRT), neuromuscular re-education
and Chiropractic Manipulation.
By combining chiropractic treatments with
myofascial release and neuromuscular re-education you achieve
greater results that last longer with less treatments.
In addition, therapeutic modalities such
as ultrasound and electrical muscle stimulation are used when
necessary.
Established patient office visits usually
last between 15 and 30 minutes. New patients should allow
one hour to one and a half hours for their initial visit.
During the initial visit the doctor and the patient will spend
some time going over the patient’s complaint and history,
followed by an exam and treatment if appropriate.

Manipulation
Chiropractic manipulation, otherwise known
as an adjustment, is a gentle, controlled mobilization of
a joint in order to restore a more normal position and motion.
Chiropractic adjustments are not limited to the correction
of spinal joints -- nearly all of the body’s joints
can be adjusted using tried and true Chiropractic methods.
MRT (Myofascial Release)
Myofascial Release (MRT) Technique is a muscular
technique, which involves the finding of adhesions, and taut
bands within the muscle, myofascial junctions and it’s
surrounding tissues, and breaking those adhesions. MRT is
different from most other muscle techniques because in incorporates
active and passive movements through the muscle’s range
of motion while applying specific tension to the tissues.
MRT achieves greater releases within the tissues with fewer
treatments. Often remarkable improvement is noted immediately
during or after a treatment.

NMR (Neuromuscular Re-Education)
Neuromuscular Re-Education (NMR) is
usually the second phase of the muscular treatment.
Muscles have very specific firing patterns which are
directed by the nervous system. As a result of injury
or prolonged abnormal posture this firing pattern becomes
altered resulting in improper joint motion and pain,
which usually becomes chronic. Certain muscles become
overactive and other become inhibited, essentially making
the muscle weak. By re-educating the muscular system
to fire properly you can essentially “turn on”
weak and inhibited muscles and restore proper joint
function and decrease pain. This inherently safe process
facilitates the body’s natural ability to “unwind”,
release subconscious holding patterns, and thus reintegrate
the body, nervous system, and mind. The result is significant
change which is measurable and functional.
Massage Therapy
Massage is the kneading and stroking
of the body's soft tissues - the skin and muscles -
with varying degrees of pressure. Gentle massage affects
the nervous system through nerve endings in the skin,
stimulating the release of endorphins, the body's natural
'feel good' chemicals, to help induce relaxation and
a sense of wellbeing, to relieve pain and reduce levels
of stress. Stronger massage stimulates blood circulation
to improve the supply of oxygen and nutrients to body
tissues and helps the lymphatic system to flush away
waste products. It eases tense knotted muscles and stiff
joints, improving mobility and flexibility
