| How can I avoid being injured?
When you are rigorous about your sports,
injuries will happen. They can be minimized but they can never
be completely avoided. If a person engages in any physical
activity, eventually they will get hurt to some degree. The
way one treats their injuries determines how fast one may
recover and how quickly they can return to the activities
they enjoy.
If I stretch out and I'm in good shape,
why do I get injured?
Usually there is a very simple formula. In
many cases eager athletes will play too hard, too long, or
too fast.
But I wasn't even working out when I got
injured! What happened?
Even light household duties can cause injury.
Do any of us warm up before carrying boxes into the house?
While it may not seem like a sports injury it is in fact part
of an overuse syndrome. Overuse and lack of warming up are
the major causes of sports injuries. Simple household chores,
when done cold, can mimic a sports injury or activate an overused
muscle to the point of injury.
What can be done to get me back on the
field?
Rest is part of the solution, but by itself
it can take a very long time and does not deal with all of
the issues. Chiropractic doctors help the injured areas return
to normal function. Combined with some rest to help the healing
process, athletes will find their way back onto the field
much quicker than simply not doing anything.
How can chiropractic help?
Chiropractic is a balanced approach to the
treatment and the healing of sports injuries. A chiropractic
adjustment will return spinal segments to their normal mobility.
This physical therapy will help the supportive tissues, such
as muscles, tendons, & ligaments to bounce back quicker.
They can also help you develop strategies for exercise and
stretching to help you stay balanced and better enjoy your
sports.
Is this what professional athletes do?
Yes. Many professional athletes use chiropractic
care because it helps them maximize athletic performance.
Star athletes such as Arnold Schwartzeneger, former boxing
champ Evander Holyfield, and football stars such as Emmit
Smith and Joe Montana have proclaimed the benefits that chiropractic
has brought to their careers. More and more professional and
college teams are utilizing care for that same reason.
Why is chiropractic the core solution for
sports related injuries?
The whole premise of chiropractic care is
to restore spinal allignment so the bodies nervous system
works better and is more responsive to your impulses. Chiropractic
helps your body to maximize its proper function. |
